- We found the kitchen floor last night. The counters are still covered in stuff and the drawers and cupboards aren’t exactly organized, but hey! We can actually open the fridge door all the way and close the pantry door. It’s a huge improvement.
- My sister’s birthday is tomorrow: 08-08-08. I should have bought her a present because that’s a really cool birthday date. I’ve been kind of busy, though. Hopefully I’ll find a way to make it up to her.
- Dad’s birthday is next week and I don’t have anything for him, either. I’ll get something for both of them by the time I see Mom and Dad at the end of next week.
- For some weird reason, I’ve had Oklahoma! in my head today. Not the movie or the music or anything. Just one scene that I was in when we did the play at the local community theatre in Toccoa. I played the girl with the really annoying laugh (Gertie Cummings) who ended up married to the peddler (Ali Hakim) by the end of the play. One of the cowboys (Will Parker) asks Ali if he can kiss the bride and Ali is supposed to say “Sure” and not really care because he doesn’t love his wife. But what he said was “Sure, everybody else already has,” making Gertie out to be a floozy. But that’s not true—Ado Annie Carnes is the one who sings the song about how she “can’t say no” to a boy. Gertie’s actually a little prudish. So the boy playing Ali would ad lib that line every time we did the show, and every time he said it, I wanted to slap him because he was totally wrong. Part of me really wishes that I had actually pulled up the guts to do it on the last night we did the play. Maybe he would have learned not to ad lib stupid lines that aren’t appropriate to the story.
- Looking up the names for #4, I found stuff about Bob Hope (I can’t remember now how I got from one to the other). Now I just want to go home and watch one of the “Road to . . .” movies that I have at home. I have a couple of them in our collection that I’ve never watched.
- I just got a Klondike bar! Free from one of the managers because it’s so hot that the air conditioning is having trouble keeping up—he bought enough for the whole department. Of course, storms are rolling in and I can hear thunder outside. Quite a lot of thunder, actually. I hope it doesn’t get too nasty out there. I don’t have my umbrella in here with me.
- Tuesday morning when I woke up, I had a couple dozen spots on my neck. They didn’t itch, but later in the day they started to hurt like zits and get white heads. I still have several left. I even got a couple on my belly and I have one in my armpit today. I don’t now what the heck is going on but it needs to stop, pronto.
- The zit in my armpit reminded me of the weird skin thing I have going on under my arms, too. I have these patches of dry skin that have been growing for the last two years or so—they’re under my arms, the inside of my left elbow, and the spot where the center of my bra rests on my chest. It’s kind of weird. My doctor noticed it and said that it’s nothing to be worried about, but when I go back this fall (when is that appointment again?), I think I’ll ask about them again.
- Have I talked enough about personal health issues to make anybody uncomfortable? 🙂
- It could be worse. I could be talking about sex.
- I’m getting more and more anxious about tomorrow’s meeting. I want it to go well, so I need to go home and figure out what I’m going to ask her. I really hope it goes well.
- What should I wear?!
- I didn’t accomplish nearly as much today as I should have.
- Even this list, which I’ve been working on for the larger part of the afternoon, in between other things, is pretty short.
- A post is a post, though, right? Even though it’s just a list of random thoughts that chased themselves through my head and added up to not much at all?
