I’ve been working with a nutritionist on my weight thing and not having any luck with getting motivated to actually, you know, lose any weight. But I’ve decided (and the kick in the pants my chiropractor gave me on Friday helped) that it’s finally time to get this thing in gear.
So I talked to the nutritionist about doing something drastic: a detox from sugar, caffeine, and white flour. So for the next 7 days I’m going to be doing a terribly bad-for-you-long-term diet called the “Cabbage Soup Diet” — but without the cabbage soup. I know, it doesn’t make a lot of sense. But apparently the soup tastes really bad and the sodium is beyond incredible, and all it’s doing is trying to make you feel full which is silly because there are better ways of going about that.
So! Tomorrow I’m eating fruit. Only fruit. But not bananas. Fruit from breakfast until bedtime. And I’m drinking water and nothin’ else. Sounds kinda boring, huh? I’ve got a bucket of pealed grapefruit (Great idea, Erica! I have questions…) and oranges, a container with pineapple, another with strawberries, some cantaloupe, an apple sliced with lemon juice, and a pear.
Thursday, I’m eating veggies. Nothing but veggies. But no starchy ones. So I’ve got squash of three different kinds, cucumbers, broccoli, two colors of cauliflower and … something else but I can’t think of what right now.
Anyway, that’s what will be up with me for the next couple days. I’m probably going to write about it because it’s going to be . . . an interesting experience for me, even if it won’t be much fun to read about. Anyway, encouragement would be greatly appreciated. 🙂
I’ve got to get to bed — it got really late really quickly for me here, which is why this post probably sounds a little disjointed. But if you think of me tomorrow, I’ll be eating fruit!
Well, only fruit is a lot better than nothing or nothing but liquids, which I’ve done as a jump start. Good luck. I’ve been doing just awful lately, too. Losing the same 2 pounds and gaining it back again every week. Every week. All winter. Grrrrr….
Love you,
Mom
I hear you. I’m back up higher than I was before I lost the 30 pounds last year. But warm weather makes me want to be thinner! 🙂
Love you!
It sounds interesting. I can’t wait to read about it! I’m cheering you on from here. I think you should “live blog” the whole event 🙂
Hrm . . . working on that “live blog” idea . . . . 🙂
