Whoops! Forgot to write this up again last night. I like trying to maintain a daily five times a week schedule with this, I just have to get it into my brain that I really need to find time almost daily to sit down and write this. I’ll get it! I do enjoy it. I’m just a little forgetful.
I am very much enjoying the weather we’re getting lately. Finally we’re getting autumn! And it is fantastic. It was in the low 40s when I left for work this morning. When I drove through the marsh, the favorite part of my commute, there was thick patches of fog and heavy dew on the grass. I mean, it had to be heavy dew—the only other option is frost and I don’t think that’s likely quite yet. Is it? I guess it is possible. Anyway, it was absolutely lovely.
Last night Justin and I started running again. We’d been getting into it more and more before we went to Maggie’s wedding, but the Saturday before we left I fell down and scraped my knee up pretty well. It’s all healed over now, even though I’ve still got purple scratch-lines on my leg, and we’ve recovered from our trip and enjoyed the time off from the running. And, it turns out, we’ve gotten completely out of shape again. I was able to run about half a mile before my calves tightened up too much to run. I walked the rest of the mile. How pathetic? We’re going to go again tonight and hopefully things will go much better.
After running, Justin worked on hanging more pictures around the house while I worked on dinner. It’s looking so much more homey now that we’re getting our pictures up. It’s surprising how much it helps just putting up a few pictures. If we really push this weekend we might actually have the whole house put together. Mostly. There are a few things that require money to finalize, and those things will have to wait for a while. Plus we still have a bed leaning against the wall in the dining room. I’ve posted an ad for it on Craigslist so hopefully it’ll go soon, but for now it’s just taking up space. A horribly irritatingly large amount of space right in the middle of the house.
Anyway. I’m trying to remember the list of 28 things to do before I’m 29. I’ll cross of the job thing as soon as I get my blue badge (temps and contract workers have orange badges, direct employees have white, but they’re called blue). Justin’s work insurance cards finally arrived yesterday but they won’t be active until the beginning of November. But then I can work on both of us getting to the multiple doctors (eye, dentist, internist). Of course, I’m not sure if my benefits come into effect right away so we might hold off just little bit and see how that’s going to work because we want to look at the optimal coverage plans. And before all of that, I really hope to have the house unpacked.
Goals! And plans to meet them! This is good.
And really, I’ve gotten started on several more of these goals. I’m just not listing them here. I’m serious about wanting to get all 28 of those done before the middle of February. That gives me four months. It’s totally doable, if I keep on working on it.
